About the Department
The primary objective of our department is to equip students with the ability to analyze financial markets, financial institutions, and systems within an analytical educational framework. By fostering analytical thinking and decision-making skills, the department aims to graduate individuals who are focused on success in their professional careers. In the Finance and Banking Department of our university, students are not only introduced to the concepts and theories of banking and finance but also gain foundational knowledge in economics, business administration, and management. Additionaly, elective courses tailored to students' interests are offered to ensure they acquire the broadest vision regarding both academic developments and their future professions. Graduates of the program can pursue careers in various public and private banks, financial institutions, the Treasury, and the Central Bank.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of our university’s Finance and Banking Department have extensive employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. They may pursue careers in the economic bureaucracy, including institutions such as Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Turkish Court of Accounts, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), Capital Markets Board (SPK), the State Planning Organization, and the Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade. Additionaly, they have job opportunities in public banks. In the private sector, graduates can be employed as finance coordinators, financial reporting specialists, budget and financial planning experts, financial analysts, and portfolio managers in commercial banks, leasing companies, insurance firms, consulting firms, securities brokerage firms, and financial departments of private enterprises. Our university encourages graduates to leverage the knowledge and competencies acquired during their education to create their own employment opportunities. Furthermore, graduates of the banking and finance program can pursue academic careers or establish independent practices as certified public accountants, financial consultants, or sworn financial advisors, provided they meet the necessary requirements set by professional chambers.
About the Courses
The curriculum of our department encompasses a combination of theoretical education and practical applications. Courses such as mathematics, statistics, basic law, banking law, computer applications, accounting, money-banking-credit, finance, computerized financial analysis, investment project evaluation, international finance, risk management, and financial instruments and institutions aim to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience through internships and practical training. The university’s library, which provides access to books, academic journals, and financial databases, supports students and alumni in their academic pursuits. Additionaly, grp projects, case analyses, research-based assignments, and internships are incorporated into the educational process to ensure active student participation and engagement in both theoretical and applied aspects of the coursework.
