About the Department

The relationship between economics and finance has become increasingly inseparable, raising the demand for professionals trained in these fields. The main objective of the program is to provide students with foundational knowledge in Economics and Finance, enabling them to apply this knowledge to real-life situations, develop their analytical skills, and equip them with the competencies needed to address Turkey's economic and financial chalenges as a developing country.

 

Career Opportunities

Graduates have access to a wide range of career opportunities. These include domestic and foreign companies in manufacturing, trade, transportation, tourism, and communications, as well as banks, insurance companies, capital market institutions, brokerage firms, research organizations, and public institutions.

 

About the Courses

In the Department of Economics and Finance, the first four semesters focus on core courses such as Economic Analysis, Business Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and Accounting. In subsequent years, compulsory and elective courses are offered including International Economics, Development Economics, Financial Markets and Institutions, International Finance, Investment Analysis, Real Estate Finance, Portfolio Management, and Banking. The elective courses cover current topics relevant to Economics and Finance on a global scale. Within this framework, the latest developments and innovations at both national and international levels are examined, and the foundational knowledge students have acquired is reinforced through case studies. In addition to theoretical courses, practical training is emphasized, and projects and internships are encouraged.
