As the Department of Business Administration within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, our mission is to offer undergraduate and graduate programs at international academic standards, cultivating individuals who are innovative, uphold universal values, and meet contemporary global standards. We aim to equip our students with analytical and strategic thinking skills, enabling them to specialize in digital transformation and sustainability, and adapt to the evolving global business environment. In this regard, we emphasize the development of ethical leadership competencies, the strengthening of university-industry collaborations based on the principles of cooperation and sharing, and the establishment of sustainable communication networks with alumni and professional organizations. In line with the missions of our university, faculty, and department, we strive to provide a learning environment that fosters tolerant, innovative, entrepreneurial, and participatory individuals who contribute to society.
In line with the educational culture and value-oriented approach of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, our vision as the Department of Business Administration is to become one of the leading, well-recognized, and preferred departments both nationaly and internationaly by cultivating individuals who embrace ethical leadership, are compatible with digital transformation, and possess a strong awareness of sustainability. Our core vision is to graduate individuals who are strategic thinkers, highly competent in digital skills, and have a strong sense of social responsibility—responding to the needs of the international business world.
The basic purpose of the Department of Business at Nisantasi University is to share not only the business theory based on economics and finance but also sectoral experience and information with students during their whole education here. The education given at our department is not confined to the science and techniques of business only, but it is also an interdisciplinary and multidimensional education comprising the other related and necessary fields. The Department of Business brings together the modern practical experiences of the work life with the universal practical information of the universities. It also has the integrating academic staff. We consider it as our basic duty to train our students as graduates qualified and eligible to work at different levels of multinational or national companies and to set up and manage their own firms. For this purpose, our academic program is composed of courses targeted at developing our students’ intellectual levels, shaping their competencies as a manager and leader, improving their multicultural effectiveness, and offering rich sub-specialty fields fitting their field and sector of interest.
There is a wide variety of employment facilities for the graduates of the Department of Business. Our department trains students in such a way as to be qualified to work at the units of accounting, human resources, financing, production, RE-DE, innovation, marketing, trademark management, selling and other units of the national and international businesses making up the most important units of the economies of countries. Our graduates effectively learn such subjects needed in professional life as marketing, sales management, leadership, chairmanship, organization and communication and thus they are able to find jobs in a wide variety of trade, industry and service sectors.
The syllabus of the Department of Business is designed to make our students benefit from the theoretical and practical education that they get during their education in every stage of their professional lives after graduation. Our courses are as follows: Introduction to Business Management, Principles of Accounting, Research Methods, Introduction to Economics, Introduction to Law, Business Mathematics, Information and Communication Technologies, Management and Organization, Behavioural Sciences, Micro Economy, Commercial Law, Macro Economy, Human Resources Management, Theory and Design of Organization, Statistics I/II, organizational Behaviour and Psychology of Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Culture of Organization, Managerial Accounting, International Economic Relations, International Business Management, Management of Production and Operational Research, Entrepreneurism, Total Quality Management, Strategic Management and Competition, Corporate Brand Management and Graduation Project. Besides these basic courses, there are a lot of optional courses available to our students to complete their interdisciplinary education.
